(AI Short Film) In a futuristic sci-fi world, human habitats are divided into the resource-monopolizing “Upper City” and the harsh, deteriorating “Lower City.” Under strict regulations, residents of the Lower City struggle to survive on a substance known as “Pink Spring.” To save his daughter Renmei, who suffers from severe “Underground Fever,” a Lower City father, Jin Han, embarks on a dangerous journey to the Upper City in search of the legendary cure, the “Source Spring.” After infiltrating the Upper City, Jin Han uncovers a shocking conspiracy behind the false prosperity maintained by its ruler, Aolin: the elites’ source of immortality, the “Red Spring,” is actually refined through the brutal extraction of life force from the people of the Lower City. Jin Han also learns that his father, Jin Yan, a scientist, had long ago hidden the “ultimate antibody” capable of neutralizing the Red Spring within Jin Han’s blood in an effort to stop this humanitarian catastrophe. Faced with a moral choice that concerns the fate of all humanity, Jin Han abandons the path of self-preservation. At the cost of his own life, he destroys the core power structure of the exploiting class, shatters Aolin’s scheme, and wins dignity for the people of the Lower City, along with a renewed hope for the rebirth of civilization.
